Gypsum Cornice or Styrofoam Cornice: Which is Healthier?
What is Cornice? Cornice is a material used in ceiling and wall decoration. Cornice is located between the ceiling and the wall and allows houses to have a more stylish and beautiful appearance by hiding curtain rods. Cornices, which have different models and patterns, add a different atmosphere to homes by being painted in a modern style and illuminated with spotlights. Cornice is applied in two different ways: gypsum and styrofoam. Although gypsum and foam cornices serve the same decorative purpose, they have some differences in application and use. Styrofoam or Gypsum Cornice? Gypsum cornice are special decorations made with gypsum. Styrofoam, on the other hand, is produced from a material called foam instead of gypsum. Gypsum cornice application is more laborious than styrofoam. Cornices applied in gypsum blocks are much heavier. Styrofoam, on the other hand, is a light and easy-to-apply material. Gypsum cornice application causes pollution in the surroundings, while styrofoam does not cause pollution. Gypsum cornice is more resistant to impacts than styrofoam. Styrofoam is not very resistant to impacts and is easily damaged. Since styrofoam is a moisture-resistant material, it can be easily used in places with high humidity, such as bathrooms.
