Silk is most often used in the manufacture of dresses, shirts, evening gowns, and blouses. Silk has disadvantages as well as advantages. Its color fades in the sun and it wrinkles very easily. Moisture from sweating leaves marks on silk. Silk garments should be dry cleaned. Improper washing can cause the silk to fade.
