How Should Flamenco Guitar Right-Hand Playing Techniques Be?
There are some terms used in classical guitar models and also in flamenco guitars. One of these is tirando, which refers to the right-hand fingers plucking the strings without touching other strings. After these steps, the strikes are made to the strings, and then there are right-hand techniques where the fingers close into the palm before resting on the upper string. The way each of the right-hand fingers touches the string is quite important. This information should be provided within the scope of
course trainings. At this point, the fingers touch the string while curling towards the palm. At this point, it provides the vibrations of the strings without touching or contacting other strings. When Tirando is done using the p finger, after striking the string, it returns to the ready position for the next strike by moving circularly on its own axis without touching another string. In flamenco guitar models, the right hand in tirando positions refers to the strings ringing with specific finger shapes and special sequences. The most common are systems called 'quatro' (four-note patterns). On the other hand, there are usage methods in multiple forms in these models. It is a right-hand technique created by striking with the outer sides of the fingernails.
What are the Practice Methods on Flamenco Guitars?
These methods can also be played in different forms and values. The word 'alzapuá' means the point of lifting. It is a characteristic flamenco technique performed with the help of the p finger, consisting of forward and backward strokes. It is seen in forms of triplets or quadruplets. In these guitar models, as taught in guitar courses, a descriptive research model was used, and qualitative research techniques were utilized. Accordingly, qualitative research aims to present perceptions and events in natural and environmental settings realistically and holistically, using qualitative data collection methods such as observation, interviews, and document analysis. At the same time, descriptions are made in the research results where qualitative processes are followed. The study group for these researches consists of expert individuals working as classical guitar instructors in music education departments in our country.
